ENVIRONMENTAL PAR EXCELLENCE

Green Globe acheivement Award in 2000


• The Pata Gold Awards 2001 for the best Corporate Environmental Programme.


• The Golden Peacock Environment Management Award 2002 in the Large Service Category presented by His Holiness The Dalai Lama


• The Galileo Express Travel and Tourism editor's choice awards for his sincere efforts towards promoting eco-tourism and developing a product category such as Ecotel hotels


• The "TERI Corporate Social Responsibility Award 2003-2004" instituted by The Energy & Resources Institute, New Delhi in recognition of Corporate Leadership for Good Corporate Governance and sustainable initiatives


• Star Hospitality Award – in 2008 for his Path breaking Profession & Achievement in Environmental Consciousness.


• The PATWA lifetime contribution award ‘Hall of Fame Lifetime Contribution in Hospitality Industry in 2008 -2009.

The Year 2010 turned out with few more prestigious awards

PATWA ‘International Achiever Award:

The International Council of Pacific Area Travel Writers Association (PATWA) recently honoured Mr. Vithal Kamat with the ‘International Achiever Award’ at the annual ITB Convention in Berlin Federal Republic of Germany, on 13th march 2010 for his valuable contribution in the Tourism and Hospitality industry. The event was attended by thousands of exhibitors and members from 180 countries.

The PATWA is the world’s biggest ‘Travel Writers’ organization, represented by members from 70 countries across the world. The aim of the PATWA International Award is to honour the entrepreneurs, who have made an invaluable contribution in Aviation, Hospitality and Tourism industry.


Mr. Kamat expressed his gratitude and delight by saying that “It is a wonderful feeling that the concept of ‘Athithi Devo Bhava’ have gained international recognition in the World Tourism industry.”

Rajiv Gandhi Environment Award

On the occasion of World Environment Day on June 5, the Rajiv Gandhi Environment Award was conferred to Mr. Vithal Kamat by Ashokrao Chavan, Chief Minister, Maharashtra for his exemplary work in the field of environment protection.


GOLDEN PEACOCK SPECIAL COMMENDATION AWARD 2010

The Orchid was selected for a Special Commendation for the Golden Peacock Environment Management Award for the year 2010 by the Golden Peacock Awards Jury of the Institute of Directors.

The award was presented to Mr. Vithal Kamat by Mr. Ola Ullsten, former Prime Minister of Sweden, on July 30, 2010 in London. 
 
 
On receiving this prestigious award, an elated Mr. Kamat paid glowing tributes to the Golden Peacock Awards Jury of the ‘Institute of Directors’ thanking them for bringing forward the issue of Environment and Conversation and giving it a global identity.
